I haven't noticed any activity in those 3 newer leased bays yet.
Wonder if rental market is softening a bit or just a bit of a 'price war' in this little area. Mercury is now offering 2 months free on a 13 month lease (any unit) and Citizen is offering 2 months free on 15 month lease.
I expected Edmonton would be announced host of 2026 Grey Cup as we reportedly put a bid in. We last hosted in 2018.
However, league announced it is going to Calgary who last hosted more recently than us in 2019...
Hopefully the city completes that planned 113 Street cycle path from Kingsway Ave to 105 Ave as it will provide a quick, safe option to get from Blatchford into Dt or even over to UA/Strathcona via bike. Route is on its 2025 bike network expansion plans.
From today's Utility Committee meeting, there are currently 258 units built or under construction in Blatchford.
Another 900ish units are forecasted to be sold or under construction during the next few years.
A deal on the first multi unit building (4-6 storey) is about to close and will start...
^I would actually argue 108st is or could be (should be) higher profile. A lot of money was spent to create Capital Boulevard - a special street with a direct view to the Legislature and its upgraded grounds/Plaza area..
108 st I believe is designed to be special given its unique proximity.
The other perk The Switch provides is indoor guest parking. Visiting the new towers over in the University area or even Mercury, there was no guest parking. I'm not expecting The Parks will either.
One of these affordable apartments could perhaps go in The Quarters on city owned land along 96st.
Sohi in Ottawa with Housing Minister Sean Fraser and Indigenous leaders.
Well summed up.
The city is proposing 3.0m for the SUP from 163st to Groat Rd - a little wider would be nice as we're already hearing conflicts on some busier SUPs between bikes and pedestrians. This is supposed to be our A1 active transportation network - let's do it well and enhance safety...
Numbers are just getting worse. Frostbite amputations reached record high last winter - even more probably expected this winter. I saw a man standing outside Safeway yesterday in really poor condition. He had no fingers.
16% of the numbers are youth 15 years or younger...
I love this project - I would also love if the city could provide it a more deserving urban, pedestrian pleasant intersection right near its doorstep, that being 101st and 104 Ave. Crossing this intersection at 101 st and then 104 Ave means crossing 14 vehicle lanes (wide lanes at that). Brutal.
