I like the podium for sure, it's really going to transform that corner. I'm just going to close my eyes though and pretend there's no tower there.

    West Garneau | 27m | 6s | Westrich Pacific | J+S Architect

I mixed this up with the location that's currently being demolished on the corner of 114 St at the intersection where 82ave turns into University Ave, which in my opinion is a prominent corner. My mistake.

Have they started work on the podium yet?

    West Garneau | 27m | 6s | Westrich Pacific | J+S Architect

Yep, it's a shame considering its prominent location. I don't mind Westrich's "flagship" towers but man their low rise stuff is seriously mediocre.

    AUPE Headquarters | ?m | 4s | AUPE | Next Architecture

Just too bad it's horrendous looking (IMO of course I'm sure there's some that like it)

Looks like they used a similar style cladding as the downtown library just in a lighter colour. Is this a new architectural fad?

    Edmonton Motors Lands Redevelopment | 170.07m | 56s | Pangman

Interesting, because here is the e-mail sent to staff on March 19, 2018 detailing the sale of the building and the move to the west end. Why he wouldn't just tell you that the building was sold already I'm not sure, unless the sale was still pending.

    Edmonton Motors Lands Redevelopment | 170.07m | 56s | Pangman

I worked there for several years, and from what I understood, the President of the Wolfe Auto Group's Aunt was the one who owned the showroom, and she sold the building to Pangman. I'm not sure if the lease rates were jacked up but Bob Wolfe always said the move to the West End was something...

    Edmonton Motors Lands Redevelopment | 170.07m | 56s | Pangman

That's interesting I figured the Wheaton Group would have developed that site since it's so central. Maybe they know something we don't, I would wonder about the ground contamination after that being used as a mechanic shop for the past 60+ years. It wasn't until about 30 or so years ago that...

    Hat @ 122 | 35.96m | 12s | Cidex Group | NORR

You gotta hand it to the rendering team that NORR uses, because they did the same thing with the Five Corners renders. Made the spandrel look more glass like with a bit of sheen, when in reality it's completely flat and opaque.

That is incredibly exciting. I wish you nothing but the best of success with your ventures, and am glad you're coming home! @archited

    Park Avenue | ?m | 5s | Westrich Pacific

I agree, I'm not a fan of what's being built in the North Edge in general.

Ah excellent, the Edmonton-spec brick has been applied just in time.

    The Augustana | 96m | 30s | Pangman | DIALOG

Ah man, that's too bad. I really liked those enclosed balconies. I still think the building is coming together nicely, and I will likely upgrade my vote to "Like It" once I see the finished product. It does fill a nice gap in our skyline.

    The Augustana | 96m | 30s | Pangman | DIALOG

I'm referring to this portion of the building as seen in this render/photo: I'm assuming the inner ones you're referring to are the long open portions in the centre of the building? If so that's good, that's what I'm hoping will be enclosed. It's a great design choice in my opinion.

    Sedona Apartments | ?m | 9s | ProCura Real Estate | DIALOG

The colour scheme is not my cup of tea (at least in the render, I've been surprised before with some buildings looking much better in person) but I quite like the massing.

    Weber Centre Revitalization | 53.64m | 12s | DIALOG

Dare I say the paneling used here would suit our new downtown library? @archited @Daveography

I'm not confident that those balconies are going to be closed in like in the renders. That's too bad :(
