Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

Speaking of gong shows... Maybe the city just hasn't implemented their snow clearing strategy for this winter, but oh boy are they going to need to figure something out for when it's operational. The street graders have been clearing the snow into the LRT ROW and landscaping leaving windrows...

The January 30th match against the States in Hamilton sold out only 4 hours into PRE-SALE.... Probably could have used a bigger venue, but understand they were trying to limit the number of Yanks coming up. Anyone else going?

EllisDon to Lead Prairie Link High-Speed Rail Partners - Edm-RD-Cal

I hope they can eventually get it out to Lake Louise as well, that would also be delicious. (And if they could get a special steam train service going.... well... SPLOOSH!)

Hamilton is hosting the Grey Cup this year, I wonder if they're temporarily increasing the capacity and if they are if they'll keep it in place another month and half for this... Wikipedia says with temp seating it's capacity is 40k

I usually hate people that bitch and moan about having to play on turf constantly, but I have to agree with FIFA here, the WC needs to be on grass (women's should have been as well). The pitch was atrocious for both games, no one had good traction, the ball wouldn't settle down and it's just not...

Either I had too much to drink at the pre-game to notice, or maybe the lower bowl wasn't as cold as the upper, but I was quite warm all evening, never even had to wear my gloves... Standing the entire game also helps I'm guessing.

Thanks for the suggestions all!! I'll pass them around. The squad has been announced, seems to be a fairly strong squad with only a few names missing, but for the first time in my lifetime we actually have depth!

Speaking of WEM.... I have a lot of out of town people asking me for things to do between the games. Unfortunately it's the shoulder season where all the summer activities are over but the winter ones haven't started yet. I haven't lived in Edmonton for almost a decade so am a bit out of the...

Neither will the Costa Ricans or Mexicans, which is the point, make them as uncomfortable as possible. About time we used our climate to our advantage.

The separation of fans is a fairly common thing all over the world, some places away fans aren't even allowed due to potential violence. In CONCACAF it's normal for beer and bags of urine to be thrown at away fans and players, laser pointers to be used at the opposing keeper, and setting off...
