Latest Update: Downtown District Energy is an initiative involving the Winspear and EPCOR. The project is currently in the detailed design stage and construction is expected to start in Q3 of 2024. At the same time regulatory process and public consultation are ongoing.

TransEd, or something else? What I meant to say was that Marigold is partially financing the project in a P3 arrangement, but won't operate or maintaine the line. The operations is being contracted by the city separately.

VLW is a P3, although there's no operations and maintenance component. I have no idea how that works.

At the council meeting, admin clarified that LRT ridership is at around 85% recovery.

Also, the signals by the OMF are a bit weird (according to an operator I know), because it works on a first come first serve basis. So basically, if there's an LRV in the yard heading to the mainline, and an LRV on the mainline about to pass it, whichever one gets to their respective block first...

It's also worth noting that nobody has died yet in an AB safe consumption site. You can't treat someone if they died. And in April 2023, Alberta saw 198 overdose deaths; consider the population difference between Alberta and BC too...
