I looked at the article again and I see it says "less than 200" and 57 "occupied", so I retract my comment on that front - it may be correct. But it is tough to square with the report that the City got in the fall which referred to 97 townhomes, which were 85%, with 67% containing one or more...

100% agree that the Blatchford comms have been pretty pathetic. However, I’ve seen the comparison for Culdesac more than once and it doesn’t seem to be a good comparison given the scale. Yes, like Barnaby said, having a culdesac in Blatchford would be great but as just one (large) project.

This would be my guess as well. I suspect that their reputation was starting to unfairly impact the reputation of other builders in the community, which the city certainly cannot afford. With Landmark and Streetside/Qualico coming into the community, I'm not too concerned that they are "losing"...

Looks like this building is retail on the main floor so it could be coming! Plus I think they need a bit of a bigger population in there before attracting a lot of businesses.

Not yet. A few months ago, they said it would be done this year but it doesn't appear it will get completed until the spring (unless this warm weather lasts a few more weeks). A portion of the walk between the station and the current development is likely unsanctioned at this point, but I wasn't...

There is supposed to be an unfunded service package to give them an option to fund the opening of the Blatchford Gate station. For better or worse, I doubt they will fund it though…

How’d you get so close? From the NAIT side or through the Blatchford mud?

When council was given an update on opening the new station(s) a month or so ago, they were told a connection from Blatchford would be complete before the end of 2023.

Is there recent info that it might be moving? The DP was issued early this year but I haven’t seen much movement beyond a sign on the property. As a somewhat different product, this would be a great addition to the neighbourhood.

All of the current development is much closer to the NAIT/Blatchford Market station (which will open early next year) than the Blatchford Gate station (which is the one that may stay closed), so this should only help speed things up.
