I quite like the looks of this project and hope it comes to fruition as proposed.

Even though the Icon stands at 112 metres it looks rather tall in these images! Can't wait till Encore arrives at its final height.

I guess we'll have to wait and see the proposal but I think this is a wise move. Just the podium though?

Maybe i'm missing something here.... how has this land remained vacant and undeveloped for so long? Or was there something there prior to this new development?

I think we're all wondering in anticipation as to the start and current state of this tower. The last proposal cut back the height, removed the theatre and the rooftop garden as well as shrinking the podium to just two floors. Not many took a liking to the new proposal as the tower itself...

Considering this is to be a "trophy tower" I really hope Katz and crew get it right and build something iconic. Something unique like unto the Telus Sky in Calgary or something similar to the proposed "Chicago Spire" but perhaps a little less scale...

@Daveography Thanks for the update! Do we know any more details for this proposed tower of up to 170m? I guess what i'm asking is if this is different from the Emerald, the Encore, and Falcon towers, correct? I checked the addresses of those sites and this appears to be in a different location.

Thanks! Agreed. I've noticed that as well and I too enjoy that aspect of it. Nice to get a break from all the negativity that is sure spiraling around the internet these days. It's nice to stay informed and to have a place where those like minded and appreciative people can have respectful...

This is the image I was referring to. Perhaps it is an older render and I hope it is. But yes, it certainly is nice to see these new developments and I too hope we see many more and these others come to fruition.
