Edmonton Oilers

This won’t be a cup year, but they’ll still be in a good position to reset for next season. It will be a very important summer though. New coach, new goalie(s?) and dump some dead weight. Next year matters the most, because 97 has one more season after that and if it’s not looking like he’ll re-sign, they’ll need to bite the bullet and trade him before they lose him for nothing. I still think there’s a good chance that they can sign him and keep him an Oiler for life, but only if management shows they can continue to win and be a contender. Another season like this won’t do it.

After beating the Vegas and the Avs I thought maybe we were back in business, and then the wheels falls off again. 🙁 Wer’re up 2-0 on the Preds, so there’s that.

You prepared to make ANOTHER trade for a goalie? The UFA goalie market is VERY weak.

So which is it? Is it a YYC World Cup as those turds to the south would like everyone to think OR is it an “Alberta World Cup?”

I saw about 10 YYC posts about it before 1 YEG sharing of the announcement.
I guess we can chalk it up to another ho hum regular day for YEG when it comes to hockey dominance? Between our 2 consecutive finals, 2020 hockey bubble Stanley Cup playoffs, to concerts, to soccer games to EVERYTHING sports related…..we get everything and YYC’ers are thirsty little bitches?

^^ 2 points out of first in the Pacific, 4 points out of the playoffs. Which way is it going to go? We'll see what these guys are made of in the next few weeks.

This is gut check time. If I’m being a glass half full kind of guy, I would look at it as a good test for Drai and he’ll be well rested going into the playoffs.
If I’m being a glass half empty guy, I’m a bit worried about making the playoffs.

This is major gut check time for sure. Maybe this will light a fire under the team.
