124 Street BIA / Westmount General Discussion

^

"He said the City of Edmonton declared the building derelict, meaning its annual property taxes had jumped from around $7,000 to $21,000 per year by the time the mural was commissioned in 2024. Casia has received a demolition permit and expects to knock the building down in the next few weeks. After that, Casia plans to build multi-unit housing on that site and the surrounding property, but when and how much are to be determined, Borys said. (One option is to build two 25-storey towers.)"

Kind of neat seeing the City's derelict residential property tax adjustment work in a real example.

And there it was Gone

I went to Rasht today. I had a karak chai and the fried eggplant dish (kashke bademjan). The chai was just okay, but the eggplant dish was delicious and looked beautiful on the plate. I definitely want to go back and try more.

Bonchon is now open!

One property I'm very curious about to see what happens is at a two-story building on 104th Ave and 123rd Street. The building was just recently sold. I could see this property potentially being leveled and a multi-story residential or mixed use being built in its place
