an ethnostate? This is false - Israel has a sizeable Arab population that receives equal rights to jews in the democratic state of Israel. You just say that because you think its true and it fits your narrative - just another example of woke lefties misusing words to fit their narrative - words like "far-right", "fascist" and "genocide" that they constantly use incorrectly. The authoritarian arab states that surround Israel are much less diverse than Israel because they have murdered or removed the jews that have lived in most of these places for thousands of years - remember Judaism is much older than Islam. But I'm sure you knew this and are probably an "educated" person who went to a university. You probably also believe that Israel is committing "genocide" which it clearly isn't or hasn't. Israel is the only democracy in the region, surrounded by Islamic authoritarian states that are brutal and ruthless, kill and terrorize their own citizens, make homosexuality illegal and have some of the lowest levels of gender equality in the world. But you think evil little ethnostate Israel, that is dealing with this nightmare and the terror state Iran on a daily basis are the bad guys I guess. Some of the nonsense I read on this forum is shocking - imagine being Jewish in Canada and having to deal with all this crap - your schools and synagogues being attacked, your summer camps for your children being threatened and raving lunatic demonstrators walking through your neighourhoods screaming "death to Jews" . In 2023 and 2024, incidents targeting the Jewish community represented a disproportionately high percentage of police-reported hate crimes in Canada, with Jewish Canadians being the most targeted group, despite accounting for less than 1% of the population. 6/8 million jews murdered during the holocaust - but now they have their own country, a kickass army and the best national intelligence agency in the world and they are defending themselves with aplomb - it warms the heart.Israel is an ethnostate though. Just say it and own it?
and the typical "far right" reference to make it all seem reasonable to the left wing "Intelligentsia" - Israel of course is not completely innocent in this decades long conflict, but it is a democracy. Hamas won a dubious election in Gaza and then proceeded to end democracy (kind of like the far-right Nazis) - they have received billions to improve Gaza but the Hamas leaders, who live like kings in Qatar, chose to spend it on weapons, building terror tunnels and training their army to "wipe jews off the map", Every Islamic country except Iran, which supports this terror, wants nothing to do with them. And also, why do Jewish Canadians need to be demonized and terrorized in their own country for a conflict on the other side of the world. McPherson and Avi Lewis should be ashamed of themselves and hopefully the voters in Edmonton Strathcona will do the right thing next election and get rid of McPherson, however unfortunately I don't think this will happen. The obvious next question is, what about the Arabs in the West Bank and Gaza? Do Palestinians who are kicked out of their family homes by settlers from Brooklyn with no recourse have the 'same rights' as Israelis?
In all my time in Israel, I met a lot of lovely people but I also heard jokes about e.g. using Arabs for target practice (EDIT: to be clear, Israeli Arabs). There's now a far-right government with ministers who keep spouting exterminationist rhetoric not just against those living in Palestinian territories but all Arabs in Israel, with no consequences. So yeah, on paper they may have the same rights; I don't think it works out that way in practice. I think really the pretense of equality was dropped entirely following the 2018 Nation-State Bill.
Of course he did and of course he will. There are some other ways he still can put more limited tariffs on trade, they are just not as broad or easy as via the Emergency Act, which is specifically what the court ruled on.He had a major hissy-fit at the press conference after...AND he said screw the decision, he's still putting tariffs on trade.
In particular, I have noticed he does not take the word no or the concept of restraint very well at all. I suppose that part of his character helped him to achieve whatever he has accomplished, but it also gets him in trouble too.I sometimes feel like people keep expecting him to react like a normal, balanced, sane person. He hasn't once and isn't about to begin. It's a blow to him and it clearly unhinged him even more (astonishing how the unhinging just keeps going and going) but will it somehow make him stop and go, hm, perhaps I should desist? Unlikely.
Canadians are in Mexico, but gay Canadians are really in Mexico.Read the tweet below from the right honourable member of progressive riding of Edmonton Strathcona.Think of how ridiculous this tweet is - McPherson openly supports the Gaza government (Hamas) which has a stone-aged mentality towards homosexuals and women. Also, why are members of the 2SLGDTQIA community special? Shouldn't all Canadians be treated equally by members of parliament in situations like this? The citizens of Edmonton Strathcona should be embarrassed to have such a dimwit as their government rep in Ottawa.

Many Canadians, especially members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, are in Puerto Vallarta, where violence has quickly escalated. A shelter-in-place order is in effect.
I stared at that sentence in disbelief for a while when I first read it. That's the kind of syntax that'll get someone elected president.Canadians are in Mexico, but gay Canadians are really in Mexico.
