General Infill Discussion

Wish I had more recent income data, but:

Pretty clear alignment.

But doesn't this ignore the fact that we just had an election and all pro-infill councillors were re-elected? Based on the outcome of the election, aren't the proposed change to the bylaw a result of a small group of individuals trying to co-ordinate their advocacy contrary to what most residents want (and voted for)?
While the election clearly gives some high level trends of support, drawing a conclusion that most people want 8 over 6 mid block for example would be a big leap. Especially as many wards saw “fully repeal” candidates. If you support infill, but say, only want 4 units max on a lot, how do you vote? Janz or PACE? Likely Janz, while still not liking 8.

I wonder if there are more eight-plexes in the lower-incoMe neighborhoods.
Lots of derelict homes in lower income areas. When your option was build 2 skinnies that need to sell for 550k to cover costs, that didn’t cause a lot of movement. Who wants to pay 500k to be in an area full of rundown 250k homes.

But once zoning started to change, selling 4 townhomes for 400k, or renting places for $1800, became a more attractive option.
