Universiade-pavilion aka 'The Butterdome' - envelope renewal

Reminds me of a whole lotta post-it notes at a workshop. While some of the angles look great, some feel almost too...jagged? Aggressive even? Guess I'm used to the mellow curves of the melting butter. But again, it is NOT boring, which is awesome!
I liked the curves too, but I am glad that the colour seems to have been kept and even nicely added to, along with some street activation.

The addition of the canopy should significantly improve the walkability of the street. It looks good and besides the weather protection that canopies provide to pedestrians they reduce the massing of a building to a human scale. The new build with one on 112 street and 86 Avenue turned out great and this one should tooo. More building should incorporate a canopy into their design.
The canopy reminds me exactly of the Montreal Convention Centre entrance along with the street interaction of the new glass. Should be great!

The poorly-shovelled icy sidewalk is so "de jour".
