Leston's meat and potatoes are sub-market housing projects -- it may not have any commercial retail if it follows suit.
I agree. I would trade the retail for main floor units opening to the street, tho. There's no lack of retail around there, with it being directly behind Unity Square and just blocks away from other retail on 104 ave, so I feel like making it feel more urban with units opening to the street would be amazing, and do wonders for the feeling of liveliness of the area.Call me crazy, but if the design improves and they choose to add some commercial around the site (esp fronting the 105th Ave plaza), this may be one of the best projects around downtown right now. 600+ units pretty great for density in the area, and it's filling an entire block of what was once disused and empty space. I just really hope some newer renderings come out so we can see what they're cooking![]()
Yes, lets be smart about this. We don't need more new buildings with empty retail space now. Unless this is in an area with a lot of street front activity or no other retail nearbyI agree. did they propose any changes?Recently at EDC and I for one am keen to see this one go.
Just a sea of Westrich Pacific’s right?I’m looking forward to this one. Renders are, but it’s 1000 units on a parcel that would’ve otherwise sat vacant for 20 more years.
What's the project two blocks west???Sorry, mixed this up with the project 2 blocks west.
