Canada Lands Company, on behalf of Build Canada Homes, officially launched a
Request for Qualifications (RFQ) on
November 12, 2025 to engage potential builders for creation of
approximately 55 new housing units at
Village at Griesbach in the City of Edmonton.
This RFQ marks an important milestone in the government’s commitment to deliver homes that are affordable to a range of households across the income spectrum in an accelerated manner.
The parcel spans a total of 1.03 hectares (2.55 acres) and is zoned for stacked row houses. The Build Canada Homes project will be the catalyst that kick-starts this housing development. The property was chosen for its readiness for construction and alignment with the project’s existing vision and municipal approvals in place.
This Request for Qualifications is intended to pre-qualify a shortlist of design-builders, who will be invited to participate in a future Request for Proposals (RFP) process to complete the design and construction of the 55-unit housing project.
Canada Lands and Build Canada Homes are seeking qualified design-builders with proven expertise in modern methods of construction—including prefabrication, modular building, and mass timber—to help accelerate delivery while ensuring affordability and quality.
