There is a recognized building style called "Soviet Architecture".
This one could be a poster child for "Edmonton City Centre Airport Architecture".
When it was built by True North, this was considered to be another one of the leading indicators of a downtown Edmonton revival...

Well there sort of was a revival after this, although not sure this was responsible for that. Also, at the time it seemed better, but this style whatever we call it has not aged well.
