Edmonton Oilers

Picks with an 0.813 tonight... and looked out of place much of the night.

I worry about that.

Damn, Oilers fail again to get first 3-game win streak of the year.

Making matters worse, we have lost 3 games in a row at home now when a visiting team has played the night before and lost that game before beating the Oilers:

1. Lost to Boston after they lost to Calgary night before.

2. Lost to Philidelphia after they lost to Calgary night before

3. Lost to LA after they lost to Winnipeg last night

Oilers still have a lot of work to do.

YUP!!! The 8th time this season they have been unable to win that third game in a row. They are one of only 2 teams in the league that haven't won more than 2 games in a row. The other is the mighty St. Louis Blues. And they haven't had a winning % above 0.500 since game 3 of the season when they were 2-0-0-1 (0.667 winning %). A very flawed team IMO. And they (GM, coaches and players) have just under half a season to get it figured out, otherwise another season in the quickly closing 97/29 Stanley Cup window will be wasted. At this point in the season, I don't like their chances. I REALLY hope they prove me wrong.

So frustrating. I have to keep reminding myself, this is only the regular season, and as long as the make the playoffs, that's when the real hockey starts. I look at Colorado on paper, and if we get solid or decent goaltending, I don't see Colorado being a better team, yet they are 33-4. We don't have a Makar, but our top 6 is much more dangerous IMO.

I agree we still have some work to do, but also, this isn't the playoffs, which are a whole other beast.
