Edmonton Oilers

Sometimes potentials are overthought -- I can just imagine the kinds of discussions that go on between Coaches and Management, missing the gist.

Some pretty undisciplined and unlucky hockey late, but Canada never got ahead in this one and the better team won.

I am getting a little frustrated at some of the BS I am seeing from recent Canadian WJC teams in terms of cheap or unruly plays or decisions.

Time to bring back some discipline and rigour.

The end of that Sweden Finland game was unreal though... so many breakaways PRE shootout!

Now I hope these lines are able to gel -- no more experimentation.

I don't think anyone more than Draisaitl has had to endure a revolving door of wingers in this league. Credit to him for producing as much as he does compared to McDavid with far superior and steady linemates (except for when injuries occur). Certainly most of Drai's points are on the PP, but how many more points would he have playing with wingers at the level of RNH and Hyman on a regular basis?

Flames are 8-3 in their last 11 including wins over Minnesota, Vegas, Boston and the Oilers - giving them one of the best records in NHL during this period.

Oilers are 7-4 in their last 11, for comparison.
Flames are back to normal now, so I guess even the worst teams have their winning stretches.

The Winnipeg Jets are dead last in the overall standings. I'm curious to see how the Oilers will fare against them tonight.

It's tight. Only 8 points separate 4th from 14th. And only 3 points from 4th to 10th.

Jets up 3-1 with 15 shots and lose 4-3 to the Oil.

97-29-93 with some unreal passing tonight and 97 with a ridiculous goal.

The Jets are in a deep dark place right now... ouch.
