Past Vs Present

I'd never heard of this place. Wanting to learn what the heck this was led me to this video. Quite interesting:
I learned to ski there via the Woodward’s ski club. ETS bus would pick us up at the Woodward’s at Westmount and take us out to Lake Eden where we got skiing lessons etc. Lots of fun.

^hahaha totally. I learned to ski at Rabbit Hill in '87.

I'm so thankful for this video. Ever since I moved to Edmonton 13 years ago I was wondering what the billboard was at the top of that hill when driving east on the Yellowhead from Spruce Grove.

Lake Eden and Whitemud hill for me. I remember the freestyle skiers putting on a jump show at Lake Eden one night. I only skied Rabbit hill 4 or 5 times.

Still trying to find photos of skating on Whitemud Creek. Nothing in my archive. but I did find one from Hawreluck Park opening year. Still Gravel piles in the background.

Was there ever a rope tow here? I have some vague memories of someone saying there was a ski hill here. I know that before the bisected the toboggan hill we would hike and ski there sometimes, but there was another gladed/cut line just NE next to it as well?!?!

Yes there is still some remnants of it there. right where the circle is in the photo, the old warming cabin was located. For both skating and Skiing.
