Edmonton Oilers

There’s nothing so satisfying as crushing the Calgary Flames! A nice little Christmas gift 😂
The Oilers looked good in the win, and despite Calgary’s crummy record they have been playing better lately, so I don’t look at it like an easy win over a bottom feeder team.
I feel like we’re back in the groove now.

FFS! Can't other teams leave our players alone?! I thought he was on LTIR - so now we're just giving other teams our younger players.
The team has to juggle its roster under two hard constraints. The salary cap is one and the other is the maximum number of players they can have on the roster at any single point in times. I’m sure they would rather have assigned Philp to the Condors but that’s not an option without his first clearing waivers. It sucks to lose a young player with potential like Philp but (a) I’m not sure the team had any better options and (b) it’s a road that travels both ways albeit it potentially benefits teams at the bottom more than teams at the top.

I like that the Oilers have finally settled on 4 lines centered by a playmaker now that Roslovic is between Federic and Janmark. I believe that this will see the team gel into the force that it is meant to be. Pickard is still a stabilizing element.. W-W-L, W-W-L seems to have been the rhythm through the month of December upping the percentage to .667 for the month. It needs to get beyond .750 to make up standings ground before the playoffs. 3-1 W over Winnipeg on the road is a good start.

Man, Winnipeg sure has hit the skids though. I thought they would be right up there, but they're even below the Flames in the standings. 😲 Nice to see the Oilers pick up a win at the Jets expense.
