Question: $200M ($100M from both the UCP and U) reno or a combination of reno and new build?

I think I wrote this elsewhere, but I was told by a member of the administrative staff in the Bio Sci department that most of the spending would be on long-deferred utilities upgrades, and much of it won't be directly visible.

The release reads like their plan is to essentially gut the building and rebuild the inside into high-tech modern lab spaces. Which I am glad for. BioSci is a cool lookin' building, really glad it's getting an extended lease on life vs being torn down for something new and shiny.

Wonder if it will address the uh, quirky architecture and uh, quirky floor plans of the existing building.

I hope it does! I got lost in BioSci once and thought I got teleported to the Backrooms.

Dam! $217M is a LOT on copper and pex piping....lol! 🤣

That building is truly a maze
I remember having to frequent this building to participate in the mandatory psychology and sociology studies.

Oh man I think I need to do a UofA visit I haven't stepped foot on the grounds in like a decade.
