That's how I found them. Coffee is quite nice there, BTW.

Tony's was my favourite years ago. Like, back when I was a kid, it's what actually convinced me that pizza wasn't just gross because most pizza in this town was just a greasy, salty mess made by Greeks who had heard of pizza in very approximate terms. And there was this pizza with real cheese...

Yeah. Other half and I are in the process of moving in, and it's nice that there's some degree of local service that's moved into the Airport Road buildings and at the very least we're going to have a corner store and a brewery, but I suspect we're going to be doing a lot of biking out of there...

    Winter City

Well, any time the other half and I went to one, we were very, very rarely ever the only people there (especially weekend brunch at Café Bicyclette any time a warm snap hit). We actually look for them, because it's a way we can actually go out to dinner in winter in a world where dining out...

I suspect that just completing the connection to the LRT station and linking up to the bike grid is going to make a huge difference.

Well thanks. The beast in your profile pic is glorious.

The Jasper Ave and 104 St isn't great, but isn't terrible. It's at least a consistently busy pedestrian intersection with a fair flow of turning traffic. The ones up by the Ice District (103 Ave and 103 St, 104 Ave and 104 St, 104 and 102 St, 105 Ave and 105 Street) are a bit weird. Some of...

    Downtown

When I drive through there, it seems perfectly visible. It's just a spot where impatient drivers who want to get out of/through downtown tend to coalesce, and all of their ignorance and belligerence comes out.

I'd certainly prefer it that way on account of not having to Frogger my way past right turn on red traffic. Might be unpopular with those who only ever drive through the intersection though.

    Downtown

Yeah. That's... literally the only reason I ever go there. I just usually access it from 100th Ave, 102 Ave, Railtown MUP, 108 Street, or anything that gets me out of interacting with the intersection itself.

And 109th and Jasper is one of the most miserable intersections to try to exist as a pedestrian around in downtown.

The font on their signage also looks a lot like "Slop Shot". I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect they're not going to make it. They have this whole vibe of coming in in an extremely improvised fashion and getting a restaurant off the ground really takes planning and financial reserves. And that...

I suspect I'm going to be crossing a lot by the Aviation Museum at Tower Rd and biking south from there. East connections are supposed to be in the works.

Well, between the increased fire risks from aged electrical and heating systems, and the increased fire risk associated with derelict/disused properties, that's going to unduly capture historic/character structures.
