    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

^ may have initially been considered temporary but they have made it at least semi-permanent now. As for the old tower updates that rendering looks pretty sharp. I appreciate that they note that this will "pave the way for future terminal improvements".

I don't buy that. Will depend on frequency but a 1x daily won't induce any kind of reduction response from incumbents on this important route. I would speculate Westjet would be very much inclined to defend it's turf on both ends, AC on the YVR end and needs to keep up a reasonable frequency of...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Haven't seen passenger numbers published for the 747 bus service but anecdotally it is sounding strong and doing good work to make the case for future train service.

    Edmonton's Population

Looks like Beaumont is booming and Scona county is the opposite based on those housing starts per person.

I get your point but the Helm and Henry Singer would probably like a word.

    Alberta Politics

I have high hopes for the new PC party (former Alberta Party) but they better start getting their act together quick if they want to be ready for next election.

    Stollery Children's Hospital

The location is still at least reasonably close. Seems like it you wanted it to be on the LRT with a big enough site that probably would have meant Blatchford (not in the site plan but could be adjusted & near highway and Royal Alex), Exhibition Lands (not sure of the fit), Or the heritage...

    Stollery Children's Hospital

Only benefit I see is ease of access from Whitemud Freeway. Walk is possible but a little far from Southgate for LRT access. Don't know a lot about the subject but thought there would have been a lot of benefit keeping things on the same site as U of A hospital and the other services but maybe...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Pretty decent October numbers. Domestic growth more than making up for transborder weakness. October 2025 Terminal Terminal Traffic: 640,758 passengers (Year-to-date 6,251,553 passengers) Terminal: 5.1% (Year-to-date 3.7%) Domestic: 556,132 passengers (Year-to-date 5,185,806 passengers)...

Looks like the new Euro routes being announced tomorrow will be operated out of YYZ and YHZ. YEG may see more YHZ service but not expecting a great deal of excitement for our fair airport which has already lost some US options for Summer 26.

    Suburban Development and Sprawl

I get that Marquis looks detached but that's the next closest spot developers' were able to build in that region of the city given existing residential in Quarry Ridge, the mobile home park, golf courses, Kuhlman's Garden, Sunstar Nursery, etc... I suppose an argument could be made the Gorman...

    Edmonton's Population

My quirky watch is to see Western Canada's 4 provinces become bigger than Ontario's population in my lifetime. Longer shot during my life would be AB & BC combined overtaking Ontario population.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Interesting does look like it is mostly Q-400 currently. In the summer it has definitely been a mix. Prefer mainline but the flight is still short enough it's not too bad and keeps the frequency up.
