I'm usually up at 4. I promise I'll look out first thing 😁. As of now, they used an excavator to take down at least part of the building. Most firefighters are gone but the police, EMS, and what looks like the fire investigators remain. And the roads remain closed and backed up. We're glued to...

No changes. My husband tells me 100 Ave is backed up, so is 98 Ave. Fire trucks remain in place, building continues to smoke. I'd strongly recommend looking for alternate routes out of downtown.

As of 2:07, the firefighters are dousing the building once more as more smoke billows and all roads remain blocked. I suppose I could have called CBC radio and let them know. I just assumed someone on the road (as opposed to me in my living room) would have done it.

Roads are still closed, I am sad to report. But the fire seems to be out and at this point the fire fighters are just chatting outside the building. 103 St southbound still cannot turn onto Bellamy/97 Ave. 98 Ave in front of our building is actually packed full of vehicles trying to detour. 97...

    Massey Ferguson Building Redevelopment | ?m | 6s | Rise Real Estate | WZMH

It looks like a sad high school built in the era where children weren't allowed to have access to too much sunlight. Those tiny little windows just make the whole thing even worse.

Well, it's now been rezoned with extreme prejudice.

Okay, the fire truck water boom (no clue what it's called) seems to have finished dousing the building and is retracting and the smoke is finally lessening (I actually had to bring my air purifier into my home office cause it's hard to breathe).

Well, I don't know how the JP one started, but I doubt I'm going too much out on a limb to suspect that the two people taken to hospital had lit a fire inside and it got out of control.

Am I naive in wondering how those places continue to exist?

Road still closed, several fire trucks still there, smoke still billowing as of 8:35 AM.

Yup. I was surprised to see nothing on the news, even just in terms of the traffic impacts, which weren't insignificant, given they closed 103 St access to 97 Ave, and obviously a big chunk of 97 Ave. They're now down to *only* 3-4 firetrucks, as far as I can see.

Another one bites the dust. Big fire at the abandoned Iginla Law building this morning. Apologies for the crap photos but it was too cold to open the balcony door to get some clarity. Multiple fire trucks on scene, firefighters in full gear. I'm assuming they evacuated the apartment building...

    Federal Politics

I sometimes feel like people keep expecting him to react like a normal, balanced, sane person. He hasn't once and isn't about to begin. It's a blow to him and it clearly unhinged him even more (astonishing how the unhinging just keeps going and going) but will it somehow make him stop and go...
