“The Edmonton Arts Council, on behalf of the City of Edmonton, is seeking artists to create canopy artwork at six Valley Line West Stops: Glenora, Grovenor/142 Street, Jasper Place, Meadowlark, Aldergrove/Belmead, and Lewis Farms, all of which are “neighbourhood” style stops. Submissions will be considered for all six stops, and a different artist or artist team will be selected to create artwork for each canopy.”

That seems right, you don’t really need art work at Wem, miz, or lewis farms. Hopefully it’s better than the reindeer

Exactly. We have 3+ years till the trains running. So how about they time it for the current state.

Everyone please email Marigold and cc your councillor. It can change things.
Trains are desired by MIP to be running this fall btw.

In my opinion (not representative of MIP), it'll be fully possible for the western portions of the line.

Would love to see it, but I doubt any testing beyond a few short blocks is possible in 2026. The majority of the line doesn’t even have continuous track bed, let alone track in it, let alone overhead wire connected yet.

They also said the gantry crane would be finished fall 2024. They were a year off that one.

Guess we’ll see. But until trains are on 104ave (all of 124-130st is still a dirt hole, and 102ave isn’t even demolished, so I don’t see trains in this section especially anytime soon), they should fix the lights to help vehicles and pedestrians flow smoothly. I got off the #7 early yesterday cause I was so tired of the red lights and just walked down to 103ave and beat it to Churchill…
