I also wonder how many people at Maple Ridge trailer park on 17 Street take the 500x.
There are alternatives available, like the 501 on 92 St. 89 Ave could be served by a 524 re-routed via 92 Ave. Additionally, ETS could arrange to have the Strathcona 401 service those stops, as they did in Cloverdale with an additional stop for the 411. Evenings and certain times on Saturday and all day Sunday could be served by On Demand.I asked a guy I know who works for ETS (he's in charge of the team that plans detours and stop closures for construction and events) about why they didn't terminate route 500x at Davies when VLSE opened. He said there was a lot of pushback from local residents about losing the two 500x stops on Conners Road. I dunno how accurate that is though, since he's just one guy going off memory.
Probably not many. There's only 1 stop, and Maple Ridge is quite big. There would be a significant percentage of residences more than 400m from the bus stop, and 1km or more is possible. I suspect a lot would ride the local 504 to Meadows and catch the 500x there, especially in colder weather.I also wonder how many people at Maple Ridge trailer park on 17 Street take the 500x.
500 x was never supposed to be a feeder route to valley line and it will not change but they will be changing west side routes like 900 x once WLRT starts operatingI am hopeful that once the WLRT is open they will turn the 500x into a shuttle between Meadows and Davies. That would had 3000+ daily trips to the Valley Line.
Would be a shame if an excavator accidentally took down the fountain tire…102 Ave LRT construction is just getting started

2 years of construction (26/27), then another year or 2 of testing and finishing probably (28/29)Anyone got any idea how long this section's gonna take to complete? I'm having a helluva time both finding renters and/or trying to sell my place right now. All the comments from realtors and prospective tenants are because of this.
I will say that I have relatively high hopes that testing will take less than a year, considering that Marigold seems to be learning a lot from TransEd's mistakes. I will not be surprised if by spring 2028 we have the line up and running2 years of construction (26/27), then another year or 2 of testing and finishing probably (28/29)
Construction is supposed to be done by the end of 2028 if everything goes right ( which never does ) then they will be doing testing and integration before it opens for public . Also we don’t even know yet who is operating the lineI will say that I have relatively high hopes that testing will take less than a year, considering that Marigold seems to be learning a lot from TransEd's mistakes. Many of the lots around there are parking lots, although the LRT and O'Day-Min Park could spur development.Would be a shame if an excavator accidentally took down the fountain tire…
2 years for construction. So 2027 Fall the ave is likely mostly done and reopened. But testing and landscaping likely happening spring 2028.Sorry I should clarify, does anyone know when that specific section in front of Monaco 2 from ADP to Norquest will be finished? There is some significant streetscaping and changes to that avenue I can't image it would be less than a year.
Wha?...........literally the only reason I ever DRIVE downtown......and I go downtown ALOT.Would be a shame if an excavator accidentally took down the fountain tire…
