Life is tough. Feel free to talk here or request confidential help here:

or by calling 811. We all struggle and people care about you. There are wonderful people waiting to talk to you.

DM's always open with me too.

For Immediate Support:

  • Distress Line (CMHA Edmonton): 780-482-4357 (HELP). A 24-hour crisis line providing confidential, non-judgmental support.

Agreed 100% with this.

When I was going through my divorce, there were some dark, dark days for me. Thanks to family and friends and the help of a professional (took a few tries to find the right one) I recovered and gained my confidence back.

Happily married again with two awesome boys and doing quite well for the most part.

I will bang this drum all day long. If you need some help with your mental well-being, get it. You are not a weak person if you do.

It's also good to see that men are more vocal about reaching out for help. My husband works in a very "manly man" sort of field and he's had some very surprisingly open convos with coworkers about mental health struggles. It's so good to see that we're moving away from the whole "real men don't cry" bullshit. And yeah, I agree. This needs to be spoken about and accepted as normal beyond the token sloganeering spouted by corporations.

Thanks for posting this. It's a tough time to be a human some days. Even staying off social media and news sites.
This is one of the most helpful changes I've made. Haven't had facebook, instagram, icq, myspace for years. I have trouble with staying off news though. It seems necessary to pay attention to, but challenging to process.

Walking for me has been one of the most helpful things. Give time for yourself.

Sounds like you're a great partner since you're already aware. Life is tough. We need an outlet whether it be talking or exercise or what else?

I'm easy for Saturdays (except the AM) just need to work out the time with my fam (I have little ones).
Hmm, what’s the earliest time you can leave? I think we should aim to go by 10 a.m. at the latest, so that that we’re not caught in the snow during the hike or the drive back.
