One thing all the indoor central retail spaces have going for them is foot traffic. Happy to see something going in here.
I believe Ace Coffee was to open a downtown location in Manulife. Methinks this could be it.I believe the space being referred to may be the former optical space, when they moved across the way. I noticed something happening there when I went by earlier this week.
If so, it is not a large space, but looks like it is being expanded a bit and it is an excellent location next to the entrance to the second floor entrance to Commerce Place

You could have at least thrown in American Starbucks instead of admonishing just Canadian's Tim Hortons while I agree with you.Thank god, as a self-professed coffee snob another non-Tim Hortons option is very welcome Downtown. Credo and Lui-Chi's are great but won't be as close to me as Ace in Manulif
Maybe all those Starbucks employees that lost their jobs when they closed a bunch of locations in the pandemic, to try keep up corporate profits might disagree.Tim Hortons ceased being a fully Canadian-owned company in 2014 when it was purchased by Restaurant Brands International.
I’d prefer a Starbucks over Tim Hortons any day (a couple reasons being they have actual espresso and treat their staff way better).
The Starbucks employees weren't fired outright - they had the option of relocating to other stores or taking severance if they were management. Regardless, even if Tim's employees staff no matter what, their benefits and hours still pale in comparison to what Starbucks offers.Maybe all those Starbucks employees that lost their jobs when they closed a bunch of locations in the pandemic, to try keep up corporate profits might disagree.
At least Tim's seems to keep on going and keep their staff employed, although I do find their sometimes long, slow Soviet style lines a bit much at times.
Funny enough, Tim Horton's is mostly owned by a Brazilian company, and yet it's coffee sucks... Go figure.Tim Hortons ceased being a fully Canadian-owned company in 2014 when it was purchased by Restaurant Brands International.

I hate Tim Hortons coffee but the donuts are good. I prefer a local coffee shop that gets its fresh roasted beans also locally.Funny enough, Tim Horton's is mostly owned by a Brazilian company, and yet it's coffee sucks... Go figure.
Meh, if you don't want to pay $30 for 6 doughnuts, Tim's donuts are fine.'but the donuts are good'
You sir have not lived.
Maybe you shouldn’t be eating six donutsMeh, if you don't want to pay $30 for 6 doughnuts, Tim's donuts are fine.
But I do agree, Italian Bakery and Doughnut Party are good.
