ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

I have long been a “look past the civil disorder of dt” type of person but It is getting to the point where I am often uncomfortable on transit.

The condition of the new LRT stations is DEPLORABLE.
It’s been hit or miss for me when I’m in the DT stations, sometimes it’s sparklingly clean and sometimes it’s incredibly dirty.

I still believe permanent peace officer presence should be a thing for all downtown stations and it’s frustrating to see that it’s not the case.

Most of the time i see the peace officers standing there on their phone, be nice if they would pick up a piece of garbage or two.

Not sure why a story has to be put out explaining "why these scooters are delayed." Is this a thing? Why is this news worthy? Just let them show up when they show up.......no?
Because people care and want to know.

More people are likely wondering where the scooters are then are caring about the majority of updates and stories dying newspapers produce

Better yet… how about council and administration prioritizing the programs and strictures that in turn promote infrastructure such as… bike lanes.

But I agree Ian needless red tape.

Edmonton is actually doing well with On Demand as an integrated layer of service.

- It's been implemented to replace fixed service where warranted (Blackmud Creek).

- On Demand has been replaced by fixed service in Stillwater

- Extended for Westfest last Canada Day,

- One Million Rides - Including Women/Black/Indigenous/persons of color

- ATU's report doesn't mention Edmonton.

Passed at Executive Committee.

That Administration provide a report on the process to implement items P-18 (create an online store for ETS souvenirs or merchandise) and P-17 (enhance ETS fare collection for special events to decrease fare evasion and increase revenues) as outlined in Attachment 7 of the April 23, 2024, Financial and Corporate Services report FCS02361.

Due Date: August 28, 2024, Executive Committee

I'm not so sure an ETS souvenir store would be a money maker, but there is plenty of empty space in the LRT stations available to fill.

For instance, I go by one often that says Future Retail space that has been like that for over 30. So perhaps it could go there. I don't think I have another 30 years to wait for it to be developed.

From the original post, it would be online only.
