The City of Edmonton is holding an open house next week for a new rezoning and development proposal on 99 Street in Strathcona. Sharbro Construction has partnered with Beljan Development and Hodgson Schilf Evans Architects to design and plan BLK99, a new residential building slated for the northeast corner of 99 Street and 90 Avenue.

According to a draft Direct Control (DC2) zoning document filed with the city, the development will rise to a maximum of about 28 metres (92 feet) providing 60 residential units above approximately 1,300 square-feet of commercial retail space on the ground floor lining 99 Street.

Elevation plans included in the submission to the city indicate that the building will be primarily clad with cementitious and architectural cladding, along with a warmer woodgrain accent on the southeast corner. Clear glazing will enclose the retail spaces.

Residents can learn more about the proposal at the open house, to be held Wednesday, January 15 between 6 and 8 pm at the Strathcona Community League, 10139 87 Avenue NW.

SkyriseEdmonton will continue to follow the project as it progresses.
