The City of Edmonton is set to celebrate the newest and best in urban design this Friday, November 15, at an awards ceremony for the 2019 Urban Design Awards.

A total of 58 submissions were received, and grouped into award categories for Civic, Community, Heritage, Student, Architecture, Planning, and "Urban Fragment" projects. The winning projects will be announced at Friday's gala.

Among the nominated projects are some of SkyriseEdmonton's favourites, such as the Mechanized River Valley Access, the new Walterdale Bridge, Oliver Exchange, Capilano Library, Bonnie Doon Mall redevelopment plan, and many more.

Registration to attend the 2019 Urban Design Awards reception is open to the public; tickets are $15 per person, available via EventBrite.
