Edmonton's tallest residential building, Encore Tower, appears to have officially topped off with the raising of a steel pergola-like structure onto the top of the building.
Captured in photos by Forum contributor Kaizen, the steel structures bring the tower to its ultimate height of 138 metres, cementing its claim as Edmonton's 5th tallest building.
The steel pergola appears to match what was proposed in the original renderings for the building, which shows the structure exposed through the top of the tower, providing some visual interest while helping to mask the mechanical levels of the roof.
Developed by Westrich Pacific and designed by Dub Architects, Encore Tower will bring 179 residential condominium units over 43 floors to the downtown core at the intersection of 103 Street and 102 Avenue, in the heart of the warehouse district.
The building is well-located in the downtown core, walking distance to many offices and services, as well as just one block from the future Valley Line LRT and one block from Bay-Enterprise Square LRT Station. In addition to residential units, the podium will add up to 4,000 square-feet of retail commercial space at the street level, as well as up to 9,860 square-feet of office space on the upper podium level.
SkyriseEdmonton will continue to follow this project as it progresses. What do you think of Encore Tower? Leave a comment below or join the conversation in our discussion Forum. More photos, renderings, and information can also be found in our project Database.
