Close to a month since our last update, and progress at the HSBC Bank Place Revitalization has been moving along swiftly. While cladding towards the top of the 19-storey office tower continues, work at the base has also moved ahead, it to not be long now before the entire project is clad from top to bottom.

Podium-level framing and insulation work has been making slow but steady gains over the last several weeks, it to only be a matter of a few more weeks before the base of the project starts to truly take shape. Designed by DIALOG, the full-tower retrofit and re-clad effort will see the office tower brought up from Class A to AA, the structure on target to achieve LEED Gold certification.

Meanwhile, moving around to the rear side of the tower, work upon the adjacent, re-purposed parking garage has moved steadily along as well. The entire facade has been re-clad using thin, vertical strips of perforated aluminum, thereby giving the dated, rather drab original structure an entirely new aesthetic and character.

Fresh, innovative, and soon to breathe new life into the core, the HSBC Bank Place Revitalization remains an exciting project within the downtown portfolio, its completion to be a major boon to the city centre.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
