New details and images have been released for Westrich Pacific's next downtown project, a 155-metre, 50-storey tower designed by Arc Studio at 10123 106 Street. The site presently of a massive, downtown surface lot, just steps away from the core, the transformative potential here is significant.
Westrich, having completed Ultima Tower, and currently working to complete Encore Tower, has set its sights on a large parcel of prime downtown land at 106 Street between Jasper and 102 Avenues for their next big project. Part of a recent trend towards height and density within the downtown proper, the tower would follow in the footsteps of the aforementioned projects.
Westrich is seeking rezoning to build up to 550 residential units, atop a commercial podium offering about 500 square metres of commercial space, as well as five townhouse units on the north edge. Density aside - which would account for upwards of 700 residents - the daily flow of pedestrian traffic to the proposed retail component would add a great deal of vibrancy to the area.
The site is located directly across 106 Street from the future Warehouse Campus Neighborhood Central Park, just a short distance from both Bay and Corona LRT stations, as well as a future stop on the west Valley Line LRT, making the site a very attractive location for any future tenants of this building.
SkyriseEdmonton will continue to watch this project as it moves through the planning process. More images and details can be found in our project Database. What do you think of this proposal? Leave a comment below, or join the conversation in our discussion Forum.
