One month since our last update, and progress at Pangman Development's Augustana has continued at breakneck speed. Now standing at least a dozen storeys above grade, it will not be long now before the 30-storey high-rise by DIALOG reaches its mid-point.

But the latest addition to the rapidly-intensifying Government District, which is now in the midst of a full-blow urban transformation, Augustana will bring upwards of 300 residents to the neighbourhood. Spread across 230 units, and nearly 30 floors of livable space, these new neighbours will help to bring new energy and possibilities to the once sleepy Government District located just west of the core.

Named after the former Augustana Lutheran Church that once stood upon the site, the new high-rise will sit upon a large, three-storey podium. The addition of a sizeable retail inclusion will serve to integrate the development into the area, the replacement of a longstanding mainstay such as a church often a difficult task.

No longer the domain of the 9-4:30 government office crowd, the Government District is changing fast. Augustana's completion will help solidify this change, its presence to forever transform the local streetscape and skyline.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
