Only a month since we last checked in at Augustana, and the first several floors of the project's 30-storey tower have now erupted from the podium. Comprised of a mixed-use residential and retail development by Pangman and DIALOG, Augustana will bring 230 residents and three levels of street-facing retail to the Government District.

Located upon the former grounds of the Augustana Lutheran Church, the current development will represent a vast departure from the site's previous use. 300 Residents will one day soon call the tower "home," the Government District to benefit from the rise in local population and foot traffic.

Convenient to downtown via nearby transit, and close to Jasper Ave, Augustana will no doubt be a popular address for urban professionals and young families. Furthermore, the generously-sized retail inclusion will work well towards bringing even more pedestrian vibrancy the area.

Once complete, Augustana will be a fine addition to the neighbourhood, the tower and podium base to bring new life and new possibilities to the western edge of downtown Edmonton.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
