Six weeks since our last update, and the Centre West Conversion and Expansion project has been making steady progress. Balcony installation has now almost complete upon the 12-storey former office block, while the 6-storey new build has now reached grade.

The future home for upwards of 250 residents, to be spread across 214 units between the two structures, the conversion and expansion of the former government office complex will be highly transformative. Long the domain of the 9-4:30 crowd, the Government District is now in the midst of a major urban transformation.

Moving in for a closer look, the construction site for the 6-storey mid-rise has become a hive of activity, with parts of the structure now at grade. Located just south of Jasper Ave along 108 Ave NW, the project will place residents within easy walking distance of downtown, Oliver, and the River Valley.

Designed by KENNEDY for Strategic Group, the Centre West Conversion and Expansion will breathe new life into the area, its completion to help usher in a new chapter for the Government District.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
