Returning once more this month to the site of Regency Developments' 121 West, and progress has been moving along well. The 8-storey, 244-unit, residential mid-rise block now stands a full three levels above grade, the project to be but the latest addition to the up-and-coming Brewery District.
Located at the corner of 121 St NW and 105 Ave NW, kitty-corner to the old Molson Brewery, the aptly-named 121 West is well-situated between Westmount, Queen Mary Park, and Oliver. To this end, the imminent influx of upwards of 350 residents to the neigbourhood will be of major benefit to the area, the Brewery District as of yet in major need of some warm bodies to liven up the streets.
The mid-rise development was designed by DER & Associates to accommodate a colourful mix of materials and colours, the exterior to boast a collage of red brick, grey stone/concrete, spandrel, and metal accents. These materials will be spread across three distinct volumes, arranged roughly as a centre block with two flanking wings.
Suites will range in size from 560-1,300 sq. ft., with prices starting in the low $200,000s. A good, low-price entry point into the Edmonton housing market, 121 West make a fine home for many.
SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
