Currently on the rise within the southernmost reaches of Queen Mary Park at 105 Ave NW between 112 St NW and 113 St NW, the 5-storey Park Avenue by Westrich Pacific Corp is on target to bring upwards of 100 new residents to the area. Listed as rentals, the mid-rise block (seen below) will eventually be clad in a mix of multi-coloured spandrel and stone.

Tucked into the broad swath of space that exists between 105 Ave NW and the relatively much more bustling 104 Ave NW corridor, Park Avenue will place residents in the midst of MacEwan University and the shops of Oliver Square. Though currently home to a great deal of vacant, hardscrabble lots, the immediate area has recently become the site of several similar residential and commercial developments, thereby kickstarting a period of major transition for the neighbourhood.

Recent photos from the build site highlight the progress to date. Pilings have been surrounded by a concrete foundation wall, with construction work advancing following what may have been a slower than usual pace of excavation last summer

Park Avenue's completion will represent a much needed injection of inhabitants into the area. Once complete, the changes to the streetscape and walkability of the neighbourdood will likely improve, especially as more and more developments of this type continue to arrive.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
