Two months since we last checked in at the Augustana, and progress has been moving merrily along. The 30-storey residential high-rise has now risen well above grade, its presence beginning to make a real impact at the corner of 107 St NW and 99 Ave NW in downtown Edmonton.

Built upon the site of a former church, the high-density project by Pangman Development Corp and DIALOG will go a long way towards animating the west end of the downtown core. Upwards of 300 new residents will soon call Augustana "home," its 230 units to to likely be hot commodities due to the development's prime location close to downtown, transit, and Jasper Ave.

A view of the build site in action (above), highlights the work to date on the structure. Crews already have a commanding view of their surroundings, even as the structure has only risen a couple of levels above grade.

Before long, the three-storey retail podium will have come into its own, the commercial aspect of the development to be a major boon for the area. Set amid the Government District, Augustana will join a host of other new builds and conversions in the vicinity, this being but one piece within a larger scheme to remake the neighbourhood.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
