Another large surface parking lot near Old Strathcona could soon become history. The city-owned South Scona lot, bounded by 80 and 81 Avenues between Calgary Trail and 105 Street, was recently sold to developer Cidex, who have now proposed a three-tower redevelopment of the property.

Designed by NORR Architects, the proposal includes 495 residential units spread across buildings of 15, 18, and 20 storeys, with retail and public spaces throughout the ground-level.

The proposed development also includes 150 public parking stalls for visitors of the popular historical shopping and entertainment district.

Though early in the planning process, the proposal joins several recently completed and approved residential projects in the area, together set to bring a large influx of new residents and retail opportunities to Old Strathcona.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to follow this proposal as it progresses. Check the Database file more more details. Leave a comment below with your thoughts on this project, or join the conversation in our discussion Forum.
