Three months since our last update, and William Off Whyte has now topped off and is ready for cladding. With the row of century homes that this project replaced now a distant memory, the latest round of photos on our Forum have captured what appears to the makings of a fine new addition to Garneau.

Located at the corner of 109 St NW and 82 Ave NW (Whyte Ave), the aptly-named 4-storey, 44-unit, project by Greenview Developments will soon be home to upwards of 70 residents. Close to Garneau Park and two bustling commercial corridors, William Off Whyte will place residents within easy walking distance of a full array of shops, restaurants, and pubs.

Nestled thus within the heart of the popular Garneau district, and close as well to Old Strathcona and the UofA, William Off Whyte will be a prime address for those seeking urban living with a warm, neighbourhood feel. Accessible as well to transit, the development will work nicely too, for those looking for a quick commute.

Once complete, William Off Whyte, following along with its pun-filled nomenclature, will be clad primarily with white (or perhaps, off-whyte) spandrel. The full effect will be realized with the help of a cantilevered roofline, which some commentators have suggested is evocative of a butterfly.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
