The City of Edmonton will be hosting a public drop-in information session in regards to the future health care related rezoning changes coming to Rutherford. The session will be held at Johnny Bright School (1331 Rutherford Rd SW) on December 4, 2018 from 6-8PM.

Viewed in detail above, the Rutherford rezoning area is bounded to the north by Ellerslie Rd SW, to the west by 127 St SW, and to the south and east along James Mowatt Trail SW. As viewed below, south of Anthony Henday Dr and west of Calgary Trail, suburban Rutherford sits far removed from the city centre adjacent to the Heritage Valley Area.

The proposed rezoning would therefore seek to change Rutherford from an Agricultural Zone (AG) to a Site Specific Development (DC2), which would open up the land for major redevelopment. In particular, Rutherford would become zoned for Health Care, the proposed developments for which would be housed in structures aesthetically similar to the single family homes that now define the area.
