A month since our last update, and progress at the site of Westrich Pacific's Encore Tower has been moving steadily along. The 43-storey tower now stands a full eight storeys above its three-storey podium, the 179-unit residential high-rise soon to welcome upwards of 300 new residents to the downtown core.
The Dub Architects-designed development will eventually be clad in a smooth curtain wall of glass, each unit to be graced with an amply-sized balcony. Rising from the corner of 103 St NW and 102 Ave NW, the project will place residents in the thick of Edmonton's downtown retail and entertainment sector, adjacent to the City Centre mall and YMCA, and just a few blocks in either direction to the ICE District and the boutiques, restaurants, and bars of Jasper Ave.
Transit users will be happy to be in close proximity to the Bay-Enterprise Square LRT station, while drivers will be satisfied with ample on-site parking. For those looking for a night in, Encore Tower will be equipped with a full range of amenities, including a rooftop pool and lounge.
Encore Tower is a significant project for the core, part of downtown Edmonton's ongoing urban transformation and rebirth as a lively, metropolitan centre. Once complete, the increase in local foot traffic will serve as a positive addition to the core, helping to bring a steady flow of regular customers to local businesses.
SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
