Continuing to climb ever higher, Stantec Tower's rise has forever changed the look and feel of the downtown skyline, its omnipresence confirmed by a recent round of photos on our Forum. Higher still since the time of our last update in June, what will soon become the tallest building in Western Canada has all but reached the summit of its full, 251-metre, 66-storey height.
Viewed above from 103 St NW, Stantec Tower looms large over the 1980s-era Hudson Bay department store that has long dominated the street, the semi-obstructed visage of Rogers Place adding to the sense of change that has gripped the core over the last half-decade.
Moving around the corner to 102 Ave NW, Stantec Tower can be seen rising above Centre High, its angular, blue silhouette unmistakable amid the downtown skyline.
Joined by the soon-to-be complete JW Marriott (left) and recent addition of the Fox Towers (right), among others, the mixed-use Stantec Tower will deliver 29 floors of office space and 39 floors of residential to the ICE District, thereby injecting a significant amount of urban vibrancy to Edmonton's rapidly intensifying downtown.
SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
