Following the topping off ceremony for 100 West Block back in March, progress at the site of Beaverbrook DevelopmentsGEC Architecture-designed 300 West Block has been moving along, the timber-framed, three-storey office/retail development now taking its place within the build site.

Viewed above in May and again below in June, the rate of progress on 300 West Block's timber frame construction has been advancing rapidly, with support beams now reaching as far as the top floor.

Appreciable in the rendering below, the finished product will be quite elegant, the open, modern office spaces on offer to provide maximum freedom and customization for tenants of every shape and size.

To be grounded by retail at street level, the small but efficient office/retail development will soon join its 16-storey residential high-rise neighbour, 300 and 100 West Block to eventually be joined by a third structure in the form of a 12-storey seniors residence. The very definition of "mixed-use" West Block will be a welcome addition to the area, serving the needs of a broad spectrum of the community.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
