The HYS Centre at 11010 101 Street NW on the Royal Alexandra Hospital campus is in store for a major expansion. A recently submitted planning application cites the addresses 11010, 11042 and 11046 101 Street NW as targets for rezoning from the General Business Zone category to a Site-Specific Development Control Provision, which would allow the construction of a 16-storey commercial office building.

Replacing a surface parking lot, the lower six storeys of the new tower would serve as an above-ground parkade, while the remaining ten storeys would contain the office space. An elevation drawing for the Marshall Tittemore Architects-designed development reveals the preliminary architectural plan, which includes "metal panel" and "fritted glass panel" enclosures to shield the parking garage from public view. The elevation sketch also names glass spandrel and curtain wall as the primary cladding elements on the office portion. No renderings have been made available yet.

The January 16th agenda for the Edmonton Design Committee makes note of upcoming applications, listing the HYS Centre North development as a Beljan Development initiative to be considered at the February 6th meeting.
