135st to 142st needs a MUP on the north side.

135st is the N/S route for pedestrians and bikes. But we shouldn’t force them all up to the transit centre and only rec centre/ross Shep parking lot entrance. Unnecessary conflict.

111ave MUP should then have a trail north to the rec centre, just west of the school.

And the bus stop should also connect further west to the sidewalks of the park.

I’d love to see the city find ways to spur on more grassroots clean ups. Build a bit of a culture where we call on all residents in April to do their part. I know different efforts exist, with schools and leagues and businesses. But I never hear a lot in media or from city leadership.

When I walk my kids to daycare this past week, I’ve had a pincher stick and garbage bag on the stroller and it makes a big difference along our stretch and around the daycare. It only takes a handful of people in each community and in a week stuff is significantly better.

It’d be cool if there was like a cleanup weekend every year. You could go online and sign up for parks/playgrounds for example.

I do the same. If I hear people complaining about trash, garbage, etc. strewn around the city, I say 'have you picked up a piece of trash today'? I make an effort to pickup within a block or two of my place at least once a week, especially during this time of the year. People need to take more pride in their city and stop complaining - start doing.

It would be nice if more people took a regular interest or responsibility for cleaning up in front of or near their property, even if it wasn't their property, that could help a lot.

It is good to have the big spring clean ups. They are needed, but it shouldn't be just a big once a year thing and then ignored for the rest of the year.
