Adding this in, and the Autograph project by the new park, we're now at 3357 units that are under construction or at the development permit stage in downtown.

We wanted momentum, and now we're finally seeing the start of it.

Yes, that is really a decent number of units considering the number of people currently living in this area. It may not be too many high profile new high rises, but bringing more people to live in various places in this area will help a lot.

It would be nice if this project makes the difference for a coffee shop to locate here. This district needs a morning/afternoon chill space where people want to spend some time - preferably with outdoor tables and chairs.

It will eventually come!! The more people you have the stronger the business case is for a bar/coffee shop or restaurant

JW Marriott was very smart, they snagged the best spot and will not have to worry about anything else here now. However, there are still some spots nearby, within easy walking distance of the area where a hotel that is not as high end could go.
