I'm not hearing anything definitive from people in the know. The change order would be about $500k-1,000,000. A lot of people involved want them.I think the city has already said they have no plans to install crossing arms on Henday/87 Ave.
I live closeby and no crossing arms there will be a big mistake. It’s one of the main access points to our city’s largest tourist attraction (WEM), and I foresee a lot of accidents with people unfamiliar with our LRT system.
It's far better than the Whitemud crossing on the VLSE. The exit ramp looks like it'll be designed to function as a through-fare rather than a true right turn. Hopefully it's intuitive that you can't turn right on red here.The at grade crossing there is a huge preventable blunder. Should not be designing at-grade LRT crossings on a highway off-ramp. As others have pointed out, at the very least they should be installing crossing arms here.
