Jesus, I really do have terrible taste in architecture cause I like the wood panels and how they break up the monolithic glass design with a warmer tone.
I agree, I feel it adds some colour and warmth so it is fine, but you know these days if it isn't grey or blue the taste police will be on you.

One of the classiest is now a hodgepodge mess of a thing.
Aaah yes… :(

But at least it matches the new lobby palette with “a little bit of this and a little bit of that over here and a little bit of something else or three over there and oooh! we have to find a spot for this somewhere…”.

I.e., the Edmonton School! It ain't Bauhaus or brutalism, but it's our very own! ;)

^ It is why this fight needs more conscripts and less allowance for "goodenoughism". It's an uphill battle but one worth having!

I have mixed feelings about this one. It desperately needed to be modernized and was a bit too much of a dark cold space. However, the new material while updating it and warmer could have been of better quality and design.

Perhaps no longer being a signature bank building the level of what was done was not the same and they really just wanted to update it. I have been through it several times and looked at it critically. I think it will be ok, but not as impressive as it once was.
