Disagree. The area bordered by 104 Ave/Jasper Ave, 109 Street and 105 Street is transforming into an extension of Wihkwentwin. And what that means is a walkable and lively residential neighbourhood with strong access to ammenities, parks and transit. Our commercial and civic cores are already established in other areas of downtown. If this means that MacEwan and Norquest are surrounded by apartments, cafes, grocery stores and bars (instead of offices), then I'm for it.

It is quite interesting to see how this area has gone from large parking lots to a park and now a bunch of residential buildings. Amazing how that park has encouraged a bunch of building really quick.

Yeah, it's good to remember that when we all get too cranky. Just like the reminder about the old Greyhound station and how delightful that area used to be.

I rode by this last week and was surprised anything was being developed. I was hoping for towers too, but I'd rather this than 20 more years of surface parking lot across the street from a beautiful park. Same with what looks like a substantial downsizing of The Shift. It'll build momentum towards the bigger picture -- Parks 2, the eventual redevelopment of Boston Pizza, etc.
